Charlotte Hermann studied law at the University of Hamburg. During her studies, she already focused on employment law.

Charlotte Hermann worked as a research assistant at a boutique employment law firm in Hamburg. She acquired further knowledge of employment law during her legal clerkship in the district of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court at the Regional Labor Court and in an international employment law firm in Berlin. There, she also worked as a research assistant before being admitted to the bar.
